Bearcats Open 2008 Season Against Butler

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team opens its 2008 season on Sunday, Aug. 17, against Butler at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats and Bulldogs will kick off exhibition action at 7 p.m.

UC returns 10 letterwinners from the 2007 team, which captured the first BIG EAST Tournament win in school history. Brad Simpson (Novi, Mich./Novi) is the lone senior on the squad and the three-year starter will provide leadership from his center back position.

The Bearcats, who finished the 2007 season with a 9-10-2 record, host a Butler team that finished 9-7-4 last season and returns all 11 starters.
