CINCINNATI - Kahla Roudebush (Noblesville, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) scored 22 points, but the University of Cincinnati women's basketball team fell to No. 10/12 Louisville, 67-52, on Saturday (Feb. 14) night in Fifth Third Arena.
Angel McCoughtry scored 33 points for the Cardinals (23-3, 10-2 BIG EAST), 25 in the second half to help U of L pull away.
UC trailed by just two at halftime, 27-25, after falling behind, 40-16, in the first half when the two teams met in Louisville on Jan. 20.
Roudebush followed her 25-point effort against Georgetown with 22 more for Cincinnati (13-11, 3-8 BIG EAST), but couldn't keep the Bearcats from dropping their seventh straight.
The senior guard knocked down four threes and has hit 11 in her last two contests. She shot 7-of-10 from the floor and a 4-of-5 from the free throw line in 40 minutes.
Jill Stephens (Mineral Wells, W.Va./Parkersburg South) chipped in 10 points and four rebounds, while Angel Morgan (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield North) grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Bearcats turned it over 21 times as Louisville pressed throughout the game. When UC was able to beat the press, they found ways to score. But Louisville's 21 points off turnovers were key in what became a school-record-tying 10th BIG EAST win for the Cardinals.
Candyce Bingham scored 15 and Monique Reid added 11 points for Lousiville.
The Bearcats are next in action on Wednesday, Feb. 18, when they play host to Marquette at 7 p.m. in Fifth Third Arena.
