IN THE STARTING BLOCKS:
The University of Cincinnati's indoor track and field team heads to New York, N.Y. to compete in the BIG EAST Championships Saturday, Feb. 21 and Sunday Feb. 22. The meet will be hosted at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory , with events beginning at 8:00 a.m. (ET) on Saturday.
Eighteen UC athletes will compete in 28 events at the BIG EAST Championships. Junior Ashley Arnold, sophomore Mandi Boykin, sophomore Natasha Burse, junior Jasmine Cotton, freshman Hauna Dawkins, and sophomore Kaylon Eppinger will all compete in multiple events for the Bearcats.
Fans can watch the 2009 BIG EAST indoor track and field meet for the first time in conference history through BIGEAST.tv. The BIG EAST Conference's online streaming platform will provide exclusive live video of all the events for subscribers who pay one low price. Fans are able to gain an all-access pass to the content they want by subscribing to any of these three packages:

BEARCAT BITES:
· Junior Jasmine Cotten shattered the school record in the pentathlon at the All-Ohio Invitational with a score of 3958. Ashley Wilhelm held the record with a score of 3788 in 2006. Cotten's score also is the 11th-best score in the event this season and a NCAA Provisional mark.
· For her performance in the pentathlon at the All-Ohio Invitational, junior Jasmine Cotten was named BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week on April 18.
· For the first time in her career, sophomore Mandi Boykin competed in the triple jump and Boykin won the event with a mark of 37' 05 3/4", a BIG EAST qualifying mark.
· The Bearcats earned eight individual first-place finishes at the All-Ohio Invitational.
· For the second week in a row, sophomore Natasha Burse broke her own school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.54 seconds at the Rod McCravy Invitational.
· In her second collegiate race, freshman Kathy Klump broke the school record in the 800 meters at the Gladstein Invitational with a time of 2:12.00. Klump broke Jocelyn Gibson's record of 2:12.42.
· The 4x800 team of Megan McAuley, Jessica Moyer, Jenna Heaton and Klump set the school record at the Gladstein Invitational in the event with a time of 9:16.76.
· Junior Ashley Arnold both set the school record in the 600 meters at the BGSU Challenge with a time of 1:33.66. The previous record was held by Mandy McCumber, who recorded a time of 1:33.90 in 2000.
· In her first race as a collegian at the BGSU Challenge, freshman Kathy Klump won the 800 meters in a time of 2:13.33. Klump won by nearly two seconds over the next finisher.
· In the first meet of the season, junior Jasmine Cotten broke the school record and recorded a first-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.02 meters (19' 9"). Cotten also recorded a top-five finish in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 8.76 seconds.
· Head coach Susan Seaton is in his first year as head coach.
· UC finished 10th at the 2008 BIG EAST Indoor Championships, with Monica Hundley grabbing an individual title in the 60-meter hurdles.

Cincinnati heads up to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the Notre Dame Qualifier March 6-7.
