PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Kahla Roudebush (Noblesville, Ind./Hamilton Southeasteen) scored 20 points, but the University of Cincinnati dropped a 71-52 decision against Rutgers on Tuesday (Feb. 24) night at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.

Rutgers (17-10, 8-6 BIG EAST) shot 49.1 percent for the game and outrebounded the Bearcats, 29-20. RU grabbed 14 offensive rebounds and scored 22 second chance points.

The Bearcats (13-14, 3-11 BIG EAST) turned it over 17 times, leading to 24 points for the Scarlet Knights.

Roudebush, who totaled 20 or more points for the ninth time this season, shot 7-of-12 from the floor and 3-of-6 from behind the three-point line.

Kia Vaughn led four Rutgers players in double figures with 15 points and eight rebounds. Vaughn was 7-of-9 from the floor and grabbed five offensive boards.

Jill Stephens (Mineral Wells, W.Va./Parkersburg South) tallied 12 points and three rebounds and moved closer to the 1,000-point mark. She now has 996 points during her career. Shelly Bellman (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf) scored 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the three-point line.

The Bearcats trailed 32-17 at the half and cut the lead to 12 on two occasions in the second half, but could get no closer.

Epiphanny Prince, who came in averaging 20.0 points per game, was held to 11 on just 3-of-8 shooting. Khadijah Rushdan and Heather Zurich were also in double figures for the Scarlet Knights, scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Bearcats wrap up a three-game road trip at USF on Saturday, Feb. 28. Tip off from the Sun Dome is set for 2 p.m.
