As the University of Cincinnati baseball team kicks off a new decade of action on Friday, Feb. 19, at Florida Atlantic University, the Bearcats wanted to take a look back at the 2000's by selecting a UC Baseball All-Decade Team.

The UC All-Decade team will consist of a 15-man roster and is made up of players who played at least two seasons at Cincinnati from 2000-09. The list was chosen by current and former members of the UC Sports Communications Department using stats and honors from the 2000 season through the 2009 campaign.

SECOND BASE - Josh Harrison (2006-08)

Josh Harrison was the only player in the 2000's to win a conference Most Valuable Player Award after being named BIG EAST Co-Player of the Year in 2008. A three-time all-league performer, Harrison improved from a third-team honoree in 2006, to a second-team recipient in 2007, before capturing first-team honors in 2008.During Harrison's MVP season in 2008, he hit .378, registering 90 hits in 238 at-bats, with 22 doubles, five home runs, 52 RBI, 66 runs scored, and 32 stolen bases. His runs, hits, doubles, sacrifice flies, and stolen bases totals from 2008 all rank in UC's Top 10 single-season record charts in their respective statistical categories. For his career, Harrison ranks in the Top 10 on 11 of UC's career record charts, he was twice named a ABCA All-Region performer, he was named to the 2008 BIG EAST All-Tournament Team en route to helping lead UC to its highest win total in school history (39), he was a 2008 Baseball America Second-Team All-American, and was named a 2006 Louisville Freshman All-American by Baseball America.


SHORTSTOP - BRAD SCHUTZ (2000-03)

Named to the 2000 Conference USA All-Tournament team and a first-team all-Conference USA selection in 2002, Brad Schutz was voted as UC's top shortstop of the 2000's. Schutz's best year in a Bearcats uniform came in 2002 when he hit .362 with 17 doubles, eight home runs, and 30 RBI. His 88 hits that season rank sixth on UC's single-season hits chart. Schutz hit .282 for his career with 32 doubles, 16 home runs, and 94 RBI.
