CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati head women's soccer coach Michelle Salmon announced the addition of 10 high school standouts to the Bearcats soccer program for the 2011 season, including seven players that are from the Greater Cincinnati Area.
Coming to Cincinnati will be defender Jae Atkinson (Mason, Ohio/Mason HS), midfielder Megan Cravenor (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West HS), goalkeeper Taylor Elliott (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS), midfielder Alexa Fiehrer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy), forward Mackenzie Grause (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands HS), midfielder Christi Howard (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS), forward Christina “Chris” Reed (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic HS), goalkeeper Kristina Utley (Castro Valley, Calif./Castro Valley HS), midfielder Elizabeth “Birdie” Wargo (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Hathaway Brown School), and defender Mollie Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton HS).
Jae Atkinson Defender Mason, Ohio/Mason HS
Played for coach Andy Schur at William Mason High School … helped guide the Comets to the regional finals in 2010 ... member of the Cincinnati United Premier club team coached by former UC assistant coach Becki Poeppelmeier … member of the State Cup champions in 2004 with the Carmel United Soccer Club … State Cup champions in 2005 with Warren County United … State runners-up in 2006 and 2007 with WCU … State runners-up in 2008 and champions in 2009 with the Cincinnati United Premier club team … a member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) state team in 2005, 2007, and 2010 … ODP regional team in 2008 and 2009.
The daughter of Anthony and Karen Atkinson, she chose UC over West Virginia, Florida State, Indiana, Illinois and Louisville. She intends to major in Marketing, Communications, or International affairs.
Megan Cravenor Midfielder Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West HS
Two-time team captain (2009, 2010) at Lakota West High School for coach Tara Schafer-Kalkhoff … named first-team Greater Miami Conference as a senior … earned second-team Greater Miami Conference honors in 2009 … received the High School Coaches Award as a sophomore and junior … earned the all-Academic Award and was named academic All-Southwest in 2008 and 2009 … member of the Classics Hammer FC club team coached by Jamie Harloff … Cincinnati United Premier 2009 State Champions … 2008 Players Development Academy (PDA) Champions … 2008 State Cup Finalist … 2007 Capital Area Showcase League (CASL) Finalist … selected to the Ohio South Olympic Development Program (ODP) state team from 2005-2010 and the ODP Regional Pool from 2007-2010.

Taylor Elliott Goalkeeper Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS
A four-year letterwinner at Anderson High School for coach Bil Miller … member of the Classics Hammer FC club team coached by Jamie Harloff.
The daughter of Marcia and Steve Elliott, she chose UC over Xavier. She intends to major in sports medicine.
Alexa Fiehrer Midfielder Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline
Played for coach Colleen Dehring at Ursuline Academy of Cincinnati … voted second-team All-Girls Greater Cincinnati League (GGCL) as a senior … named a Southwest Ohio High School Coaches Association Academic All-Star in 2009 and 2010 … also earned the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Academic Award in 2009 and 2010 … helped Ursuline reach the 2010 Ohio State Regional Semifinals … member of the Classics Hammer FC club team coached by Jamie Harloff … club team won the USYSA Ohio South State Cup Championship in 2009 … member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) state team from 2005-07 and 2009 … part of the ODP Region II team in 2007 and 2009 … participated in the ODP Interregional Training Camp in Carson, Calif., in 2007.

Team captain for coach Tommy Kearns at Highlands High School …was the leading scorer for the Bluebirds in 2009 and 2010 … HHS finished the 2008 season as Kentucky state runners-up … was voted team’s MVP and Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2009 … named second-team all-state as a junior … named all-Northern Kentucky first team in 2009 … voted the Northern Kentucky Offensive Player of the Year in 2010 … earned first-team all-state and first-team all-Northern Kentucky as a senior … member of the Classics Hammer FC club team coached by Clay Revis … member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) state team from 2005-09.
The daughter of Denise and Kenneth Grause, she chose UC over the University of Mississippi. She intends to major in architectural engineering.
Christi Howard Midfielder Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS
Earned four varsity letters playing soccer for coach Bil Miller at Anderson High School … helped lead squad to a 2008 Fort Ancient Valley Conference (FAVC) championship … named team MVP as a junior … earned first-team all-FAVC after guiding team to a Sectional Championship and District Runner-up title in 2009 … served as team captain as a senior, leading team to the FAVC finals … led the Redskins to sectional, district, and regional championships as a senior … Anderson was ranked No. 2 in the city, and No. 33 in the ESPN national poll … earned second-team all-state honors in 2010 … named first-team all-city and first-team all-FAVC in senior campaign … awarded Anderson Defender of the Year and FAVC Player of the Year honors as a senior … member of the Classics Hammer FC club team coached by Jamie Harloff … a member of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) state team in 2009, the only season she tried out.

The daughter of Alicia and Jon Utley, she chose UC over San Jose State. She intends to major in Physical Therapy.
Elizabeth Wargo Midfielder Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Hathaway Brown School
A four-year varsity letterwinner for coach Dennis Weyn at Hathaway Brown School … was the team captain in 2009 and 2010 … led the Blazers to the 2007 Division 2 state championship … voted the 2007 MVP on offense … helped HBS advance to the 2008 Division 2 Final Four and earned MVP honors … guided squad to the 2009 Division 2 state championship and a Top 25 national ranking … was voted team MVP in 2009 … missed senior season due to an injury … the Blazers were 2010 Division 2 state finalists … member of the Internationals club team coached by Zdravko Popovic … Internationals were the Ohio North State Cup Champion in 2007 and Ohio North State Cup Finalists in 2009 and 2010 … the Internationals finished second at the Penn Forrest (Pittsburgh, Pa.)
