ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - University of Cincinnati hurdler Terrence Somerville will compete at the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships presented by BMW, Saturday and Sunday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Somerville (Akron, Ohio/Buchtel) qualified for the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships after he ran the 60-meter hurdles in 7.68 seconds on Jan. 22 at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships in Kent, Ohio.
Somerville's time, which is tied with Keiron Stewart from the University of Texas for the top NCAA mark in 2011, places him second in Bearcats history behind UC Hall-of-Famer David Payne (7.62).
After the world's No. 1 and No. 2 ranked hurdlers, David Oliver (7.37) and Aries Merritt (7.46), became late scratches, Somerville enters the event with the fifth-best mark.
The first round of the men's 60-meter hurdles is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. A live Webcast of Saturday's events can be viewed at usatf.org.
The semifinal round is scheduled on Sunday at 3:20 p.m. ET, followed by final round at 5 p.m. ET. ESPN will televise all of Sunday's final events, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET.
