CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati baseball team split its doubleheader Saturday against Seton Hall University when it lost Game 2 10-1 at Marge Schott Stadium.

Cincinnati's (27-23, 12-11 BIG EAST) offense was limited by the pitching of Seton Hall right hander Jon Prosinksi, who allowed one run and struck out six in eight innings pitched.

UC senior right-handed hurler Dan Jensen (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville), who was originally scheduled to start the first game of the doubleheader, was moved to Game 2 after sophomore RHP Zach Isler pitched a complete game in the Bearcats' 3-1 Game 1 win. Jensen tossed five innings, allowing four earned runs, with one walk and one strikeout.

For the second game in a row, Seton Hall scored in the top of the first inning. The Pirates put two runs on the board on two hits, highlighted by an RBI single from 1B Sean Gusrang.

Seton Hall doubled its lead after scoring two in the fifth inning when 2B Mike Genovese hit an RBI fielder's choice and Gusrang lined an RBI single up the middle of the infield to put the Pirates in front 4-0.

The Pirates pulled away after scoring three runs both in the seventh and eighth innings to build a 10-0 lead.

Cincinnati's lone run came in the bottom of the eighth. Junior second baseman T.J. Jones (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) led off the inning with his second double of the game. Jones advanced to third on a single from senior shortstop Chris Peters (Tipp City, Ohio/Tipp City) and scored on freshman designated hitter Justin Glass' (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) RBI groundout to first base.

The Bearcats and Pirates will play a rubber game of their three-game BIG EAST Conference series at 11 a.m. Sunday at Marge Schott Stadium. Sunday's game was originally scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
