I've got good news and bad news.
How about the bad news first: very brief Breakfast today. With the first UC press luncheon of the year this morning, there is not enough time in the day.
Good news: I'll have a post this afternoon after we acquire some more nuggets about this season and this week's game against Austin Peay.
Reminder: Standing order all season, if you have any questions you would like answered, just send it to me (pauldehnerjr@gmail.com) or on Twitter (@pauldehnerjr). I'd be happy to find out or track down a response for you.
Let's eat...
--- Four days...
--- ESPN concluded its Top 25 Big East players list with UC tied for the conference lead with five members.
Think about that, take away everything else you know, but say that one team will be tied for the most players in the top 25 of the conference and have a senior QB at No. 3. Sounds like a team that should be in the title conversation to me.
Of course, just about every team in this conference should be in the title conversation, so I guess I digress.
--- Butch Jones said yesterday on the Big East teleconference that he anticipates eight true freshmen playing. Judging by the two deep depth chart released yesterday and general knowledge, here are the logical eight he's referring to:
WR Alex Chisum, WR Shaq Washington, LB Clemente Casseus, LB Dwight Jackson, LB Nick Temple, KOR Ralph David Abernathy IV, RB Jameel Poteat, RB Akise Teague.
All are listed as backups except for RDAIV, who is the staring kickoff returner.
--- Also in regards to youth, remember there are five redshirt freshmen listed on the two-deep, including one starter in K Tony Miliano.
The other four are LT Eric Lefeld, RT Cory Keebler, DL Camaron Beard, LB Solomon Tentman.
--- As for any surprises on the two-deep, there weren't any. Deven Drane was the starter at CB, but he's been working with the 1s pretty regularly. A majority of the time, especially when the Big East spread portion of the schedule comes, Dominique Battle will be the third corner on the field many of the snaps with LB Ben Pooler on the sideline.
Reuben Johnson or Chris Williams could also come on in those situations, they are listed as undecided starters at nickel corner.
--- Like a little conference shuffle with your opening weekend of college football? Texas A&M could be making its move to the SEC official today. Everybody man your stations, it just got real.
--- Since I know my blog usually caters to the high brow, VIP types; here's a link to UC's Corporate/VIP Program that is available.
--- Some randomness...
--- Aaron Rodgers has really stepped up his 'stache game.
--- Pump-up song week continues with a little hip hop for the kids. I remember seeing this song during Georgia's home opener a few years back following a TD and nearly the entire team was dancing on the sidelines. It was one of the cooler things I've seen at a football game.
