CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete at Keating Aquatics Center for the final time during the 2011-12 season on Saturday for an 11 a.m. meet against Wright State University.

The diving competition will start at 11 a.m. and the swim portion of the meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Seven senior UC student-athletes - Anna Bersani, Stephanie Conklin, Renee DeSalle, Liz Hansson, Matt Hays, Haywood Miller and Josefin Wede - will be honored as part of Senior Day festivities at approximately 12:40 p.m. prior to the start of the swimming competition.

Wright State is coming off a dual-meet sweep of Xavier University on Jan. 28 in which the Raiders men won 146-116 and the WSU women triumphed over the Musketeers 161-100.

WSU is led by senior Hermanus Botha, who is coming off his second Horizon League Swimmer of the Week accolade of the year after earning three individual wins in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle races against Xavier.

Cincinnati is coming off dual-meet losses at Kentucky where the UC men fell 192-101 and the women lost 169.5-116.5.

Against UK, the Cincinnati women received individual victories from Weronika Wasiakowska (100-yard backstroke), Helena Pikhartova (100-yard breaststroke), Hansson (200-yard backstroke) and Wede (200-yard breaststroke).

Joe Scherpenberg gave the UC men their first individual victory against the Wildcats in the 500-yard freestyle.

Saturday marks the final regular-season meet for the Bearcats before they open BIG EAST Conference competition, starting with the diving championships Feb. 10-12 and ending with the swimming championships Feb. 15-18 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
