Bearcats Conclude Cardinal Cup Action

CINCINNATI
- The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished 13th out of 17 teams after final round action at the Cardinal Cup hosted by the University of Louisville in Simpsonville, Ky.

As a team, the Bearcats recorded five birdies during Tuesday's round but were unable to drop any strokes from their first two round scores of 309 and 314 to finish with a 315.

"Practice has been good but we are struggling to put it in play during tournaments," noted head coach Janet Carl. "We have two weeks before our next tournament which will give us time to focus on making practice translate into tournament success."

// SCORING TEAM
Cincinnati was unable to build on Monday's first and second rounds, recording a team score of 315 on the final day. Cincinnati finished the event with a score of 309-314-315=938 and placed 13th among the field of 17 teams. Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) was the only UC golfer to finish in the top 30, taking 29th place with a score 73-79-78=230.

Valentina Herrera (Bogotá, Colombia) carded 11 pars during the third round while Kensington Wieland (Loudon, Tenn./Webb School of Knoxville) recorded eight pars and one birdie.
