Women's Golf Wraps up Action at Cardinal Kickoff

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team opened the season this weekend with a one-day, 36-hole tournament at the Chariot Run Golf Course in Laconia, Ind. The Bearcats finished fifth at the event hosted by the University of Louisville.

// SCORING TEAM
Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) and Ashley Cassidy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks) tied for the best overall finish during the event. Cassidy also had the lowest individual round by a Bearcat with a 76 during the first 18 holes.

Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) turned in the best finish of the three individuals competing at the event, placing 22nd.

"This tournament was a great opportunity to see what shots we need to really improve on for the rest of the season," noted head coach Janet Carl. "Despite some tough wind conditions, we were able to see the majority of the team in competition and develop a clear plan of what we need to be working on at practice."
