CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team is in first place after the first 18 holes of the Bearcat Classic at TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio.
Heavy rain throughout most of the day forced a 90-minute delay and caused the cancellation of the second 18 holes originally scheduled for Monday. The tournament will now be shorted to just 36 holes with 18 to be played on Tuesday, October 7.

Cincinnati was led on Monday by junior Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) who was even on the front nine and just two-over on the back nine. She recorded two birdies and is currently tied for fourth. Ashley Cassidy is tied for 12th place after a 76 on the Monday, carding three birdies.
Despite the rain, Mackenzie Moir (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) turned in her lowest round of the year with a 78.

The Bearcats turned in the top scoring average on par-five holes with a 5.04 average, finishing just one-over par. They also tied for first on par-three scoring (3.12, +3) and third in par-four scoring (4.52, +31).
UC recorded the most pars in the field (62) and third most birdies (12). Mitchell tied the field in par-3 scoring with a one-under-par average of 2.75.
