Series Notes
- The Bearcats cut UConn's lead in the series to 8-5. The Bearcats have won three of the last four and five of the last eight meetings.
Team Notes
- Head coach Mick Cronin used the starting lineup of Ge'Lawn Guyn (G), Sean Kilpatrick (G), Shaquille Thomas (F), Titus Rubles (F) and Justin Jackson (F) for the 24th time in 24 games.
- UC continues its best start under Cronin, both overall (22-2) and in conference play (11-0).
- It is the best start for the Bearcats since the 2001-02 squad began 26-2 before finishing 31-4 overall, setting a school record for wins.
- The 11-0 mark in conference play is the best start in league action since the 1999-2000 team went a perfect 16-0 in Conference USA.
- Cincinnati has now won 15-straight games, tying Saint Louis for the fifth-longest streak in the nation. The Bearcats and Billikens trail only Wichita State (23), Syracuse (22), San Diego State (18) and Stephen F. Austin (17).
- The Bearcats are now one of eight teams in the country with two or fewer losses (Syracuse, Wichita State, San Diego State, Florida, Saint Louis, Stephen F. Austin and Villanova).
- Cincinnati's 15-game winning streak is the longest since the 2010-11 team won its first 15 games.
- The victory improves UC to 16-0 at Fifth Third Arena on the year and sets the arena record for consecutive wins to start the season.
- UConn's 10-point lead (31-21 with 2:14 left in the first half) is the largest by an opponent in Fifth Third Arena this season and marked the first time all year the Bearcats have trailed by double-digits on their home court.
- Cincinnati is 22-0 when holding its opponent below 50-percent from the field.
- UC is 16-0 when holding its opponent to a field goal percentage under 40-percent.
- The Bearcats are 16-0 when outrebounding their opponent.
- Cincinnati is now 6-0 in games decided by five points or less.
- When UC holds its opponent under 60 points, it is 16-0 on the year.
- The Bearcats are 3-0 on Thursdays.
Individual Notes
- With 26 points, Kilpatrick now has 1,917 in his career. Kilpatrick trails only the legendary Oscar Robertson (2,973 points) and Steve Logan (1,985 points).
- Kilpatrick also grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds, giving him just his fourth career double-double - second this season.
- It marked the 100th time in Kilpatrick's career he has scored in double figures.
- Kilpatrick ranks third in career three-pointers made with 285 after connecting for five against the Huskies. He trails only Deonta Vaughn (313) and Darnell Burton (306) in that category. It also marked the fifth time this season Kilpatrick connected for at least five three-pointers.
- Kilpatrick played in his 130th game in the red and black. He is now tied for seventh all-time in games played with Darnell Burton. Cashmere Wright is the program's leader in games played at 139.
- In playing 130 consecutive games, Kilpatrick is now second all time in that category. Keith Gregor leads with 131 consecutive games played, meaning Kilpatrick can take that record on Feb. 15 versus Houston.
- Before missing on his second free throw attempt, Kilpatrick had made 21 consecutive foul shots. That eclipses his previous long streak of 18, which was keyed by a 16-for-16 performance versus Iowa State on Nov. 23, 2012. He finished the night 5 of 7 from the line and is shooting 86 percent on the season.
- Kilpatrick's six assists are the most in a conference game this season for the senior.
- With two blocks, Jackson has accumulated 197 rejections in his career. He ranks fourth all-time behind Kenyon Martin (292), Erick Hicks (256) and Jason Maxiell (252). Jackson also now has 78 for the season, a mark which ties Kenyon Martin's 1998-99 campaign for sixth-most by a Bearcat in a year. Eric Hicks holds the UC record for blocks in a season at 113.
- Guyn has scored at least five points in five of the last six contests. The junior's five rebounds were a career high and his four assists were a season high.
