CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team opened with a solid start during the Clover Cup hosted by Notre Dame in Mesa, Ariz., placing ninth after the first 18 holes.

Featuring a field with four teams ranked in the top-50, the Bearcats fired a round of 313 during the first day of the Clover Cup to stand in ninth place after day one. Arizona leads the field after the first day thanks to a seven-over-par round of 295 during Friday's action. Notre Dame was second by just one stroke at 296 while Oklahoma rounded out a closely contested top three with a team score of 297.
