HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team slipped to fifth place despite dropping one stroke off their second-round team score Saturday at the Bearcat Spring Classic at Mission Inn's Los Colinas course.
// HOSTING DUTIES
The Bearcats are hosting their second event this season after hosting the Bearcat Fall Classic in October. UC has welcomed 17 teams to the event which will run from March 20-22 with 18 holes of golf scheduled for each day.
// SECOND-ROUND NOTES
Saturday's second round featured tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. with play wrapping up around 5 p.m. Cincinnati was two-over on par three's, 21-over on par four's and 10-over on par-five scoring.
// TOP FIVE TEAMS
Memphis still holds on to the team lead with a team score of 304 on Saturday after shooting 298 in the first round. They hold a 14-stroke lead over Jacksonville (316-300=619). North Dakota State (303-316=619) and Seminole State (312-307=619) are tied for third with Cincinnati (312-311=623) close behind in fifth.

The Bearcats were led by Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) who shot a team-best round of 75 Saturday. Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) kept pace with her first round, matching her score of 77 from Friday.
