// KEY INNINGS
Bottom of the Second
Voss gave up just one hit but Tennessee took advantage of several UC mistakes to score four runs in the bottom of the second inning. After a leadoff walk, Nathaniel Maggio launched a 2-run homerun to right field to put the Volunteers on the board. A fielding error and consecutive walks loaded the bases before a fielder's choice and another UC error scored two additional runs for a 4-0 Tennessee lead.
Bottom of the Fifth
A Cincinnati fielding error erased a potential double play for the Bearcats while the next batter, Nick Senzel, tripled to bring home both runners. Two batters later, a sacrifice fly brought home Senzel and gave Tennessee a 7-0 lead.
Top of the Seventh
With two outs, R.J. Thompson (Mason, Ohio/Mason) was hit by a pitch and Richmond singled to put two runners on board. A wild pitch moved both Thompson and Richmond into scoring position, but a good defensive play by the Tennessee shortstop stole a base hit from Woody Wallace (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) to keep the Bearcats scoreless.
