Bearcats Finish First Two Rounds of Web.com Intercollegiate

RESULTS

CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's golf team opened play at the Web.com/Marsh Landing Invitational Monday afternoon, finishing the first two rounds in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

//THE FIELD
Miami holds an eight-stroke lead over second place after shooting rounds of 281 and 282 on Monday. Florida State is second at 292-279=571 while Ohio State is just behind at 288-284=572. Texas Tech (287-290=577) and Illinois (289-293=582) rounded out the top five.

//BEARCATS IN THE FIELD
The Bearcats were led during Monday's action by Valentina Herrera (Bogota, Colombia) who rebounded from a first-round 80 to shoot 74 during the second 18 holes. Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) also made a marked improvement during her second time around the course, shooting 81 and 75 respectively.



As a team, UC is 17th after the first two rounds. The Bearcats shot a 313 during the first round, before answering with a 306 during the second round.

The field for the event includes No. 37 Florida State, No. 38 Miami, No. 43 Ohio State, No. 44 Texas Tech, Charleston Southern, Cincinnati, Daytona State, Illinois, Jacksonville, James Madison, Kennesaw State, McNeese State, Minnesota, North Florida, Texas State and Toledo.

The event is taking place at the Marsh Landing Country Club, measuring 5,967 yards at par 72. Monday's action will feature 36 holes while the field will play 18 on Tuesday.
