MAINEVILLE, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team continued its hold on the lead during round three with a score of 298 on Tuesday to bring its three-day total to 898 to take the team championship at the Bearcats Fall Classic at TPC River's Bend.
Junior Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) continued to stay in the hunt on Tuesday after being three shots off of the lead following Monday's first and second rounds. Liebert managed to surpass leader Ellen Kehoe from Louisville down the stretch and took a one-shot lead onto the group's final hole of the day at 18. Kehoe, though, was able to even the score which forced a one-hole playoff on 18. A long tee shot, chip out of the bunker, and two-putt allowed the junior to one-up Kehoe for the individual title.

In addition to Liebert's stellar two days, the Bearcats also had impressive performances throughout their scoring team. During Tuesday's final round, sophomore Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) fired a one-under-par 71, while senior Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) carded an even-par 72.

"I am so proud of this team's effort this week at our event," said head coach Janet Carl. "We set a season-low three-round total of 898 as well as two days under 300. The players have been working really hard and hopefully they see it paying off. I am also proud of Tara [Liebert] and her play this week. It is her first college win and she put together three solid rounds and was deserving of the victory.
