LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After two rounds of action on Monday, the University of Cincinnati women's golf team is currently in ninth place - out of 15 teams - at the Cardinal Cup at the UofL Golf Club.

Cincinnati was led by junior Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) who was three-over par on the day including a first-round 75 and an even-par 72 in the second. Liebert holed five total birdies on Monday - four of which were on the back nine - and had a stellar back nine performance in round No. 2 which included three birdies and six pars. The Mason native currently sits in a tie for 15th out of 81 golfers. Additionally, UC has a trio of golfers at plus-seven (151) to each tie for 32nd overall: sophomore Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville), senior Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview), junior Ashley Cassidy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East).

"I'm really happy with the entire team for their patience today," said head coach Janet Carl. "We have been discussing the second 18 holes on 36-hole days and trying to create a plan on how to better our score from the first round. Today they worked hard on that and could see the difference. They played themselves into a good spot for tomorrow, now they need to go out and play a great round. Today was an entire team effort."
