
SARASOTA, Fla. - In a field of competition featuring nearly 80 golfers, junior Ashley Cassidy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) led the Bearcats with an even-par 72 to tie for sixth place following Sunday's first round at the 38th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. As a team, UC is in ninth place out of 14 total teams.

Cassidy was one of only 14 golfers who shot a round of even par or better on the day. The Pennsylvania native carded three birdies on the front nine holes including back-to-back birdies on holes five and six. UC was also represented among the top 40 by senior Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) who fired a five-over-par 77 to tie for 33rd and by sophomore Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) who tied for 40th with a plus-six 78.
