FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team followed up Monday's two-round score of 586 with a final-round 298 to place second with a two-day, three-round score of 884 at the Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf Club.
After a strong showing Monday to kick off the spring season in the event's first two rounds, the Bearcats carried the momentum into Tuesday's final round with the third-best team score of the day of 298. The Bearcats' three-round score of 884 is a new program record and bests the previous score of 887 set on Oct. 9, 2013 at the Price's "Give `Em Five" Invitational hosted by New Mexico State.

Junior Ashley Cassidy (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) followed up yesterday's second-round 72 with an identical score in Tuesday's third round which tied for the best individual round of the day to finish the event in sixth place overall. After tying for fourth place following Monday's action at one-under-par, sophomore Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) shot a third-round 77 to finish the event in a tie for seventh place. UC was able to place two additional golfers among the top-26 competitors with senior Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) holding steady on Tuesday with a third-round 76, while junior Valentina Herrera (Bogotá, Colombia) answered back with a 73 in the final round.
