SORRENTO, Fla. - The UC women's golf team shot a second-round 310 on Monday and are currently in eighth place out of 20 teams at the Morehead State Citrus Challenge at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Florida.

After firing a plus-nine 297 during Sunday's opening round to place in a tie for sixth, the Bearcats fell victim to cold and windy conditions on Monday resulting in a 22-over-par 310 to drop to eighth place. On the day, sophomore Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) turned in a team-best plus-three 75 to move from a tie for 20th to a tie for 13th place on the individual leaderboard. After firing a team-leading even-par 72 on Sunday, senior Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) shot a six-over-par 78 in the second round Monday to drop from a tie for fifth to a tie for 16th place overall.

"It was a tough day for the team today," said head coach Janet Carl. "Winter returned to Florida with cold and windy conditions. This caused higher scores for most of the teams. We put in a solid performance and should be able to move up some on the leaderboard. We are looking for good performances from all nine players tomorrow."
