HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team completed a sweep of both the team and individual titles at the 2016 Bearcats Spring Classic at El Campeon Golf Course at Mission Inn Resort & Golf Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida.
// SCORING TEAM
Taking a three-stroke lead over runner-up Akron entering Sunday's final round, the Bearcats kicked it in into overdrive to close the tournament with a 15-over-par 303 to bring their three-day total to 929. Junior Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason), again, led the charge with the lowest round of the tournament with a one-under-par 71 to finish the weekend with a plus-five 221 to capture the individual crown. Sunday's victories mark back-to-back wins for the Bearcats and Liebert in UC-hosted events this season after sweeping both titles at the 2015 Bearcats Fall Classic in October. It also marks the first time Cincinnati has won its spring tournament since 2013.
