Women's Golf Finishes Eighth at The American Championship

PALM COAST, Fla. -
The University of Cincinnati women's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship, finishing in eighth place in the three-day, three-round tournament at the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club in Palm Coast, Florida.

Sophomore Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville), again, was UC's top scorer for the day with a third round 76 (+4) after posting a team-leading 73 on Monday. For the round, Gloor holed 13 pars and one birdie which was on the par-4, 353-yard hole No. 7. Highlighted among UC's play Tuesday was a hole-in-one by junior Valentina Herrera (Bogotá, Colombia) on the par-3, 160-yard hole No. 12. This was her third-career hole-in-one. In addition, senior Stefanie Mitchell (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview) carded an 80 for the second-consecutive round, while junior Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) bounced back on Tuesday with a 79 after rounds of 89 and 83, respectively, on Sunday and Monday.
