// Notables
- Cincinnati improves to 19-20 on the year and 7-3 in The American while Memphis falls to 13-25 and 4-6.
- Zellner earned the win to move to 5-2 on the season. The total surpasses his freshman-year numbers (4-4) and marks his 11th-career victory.
- It was Zellner's third complete game this season, the most for any UC player in a single season since Dan Osterbrock did it three times in 2008. Osterbrook also threw five complete games in 2007 and two in 2006 for 10 total.
- Sophomore Treg Haberkorn (Leo, Ind./Leo) doubled, was walked and was hit in the game to extend his on-base streak to 13 games.
- Haberkorn tied a career high with two stolen bases. He also swiped to bags versus Memphis last season on May 1.

- Freshman Cam Alldred (Batavia, Ohio/Cincinnati Country Day) hit his first and second-career doubles in his first two at-bats of today's game.
- The Bearcats hit four doubles (Alldred 2, Haberkorn and McVey) for the first time since a 6-5 win vs. Northwestern on March 20.
- The teams sat through a 32-minute weather delay before the game even started and another 40-minute delay in the middle of the sixth inning. The actual game time was only two hours and 13 minutes.

// Key Innings
Bottom of the Sixth
McVey took the first pitch following a 40-minute weather delay and lined it off the wall in left field for a double. Two batters later, Haberkorn doubled into deep left field to score McVey for the game's first run.
Top of the Seventh
The Tigers threatened in the seventh when two singles put runners on the corners with two outs. Zellner, however, made a heads-up play to jump off the mound and tag a runner attempting to steal home to end the inning and preserve the 1-0 UC lead.
Top of the Eighth
The Tigers again had two runners in scoring position in the eighth but the Bearcats kept them scoreless. With one out, a chopped grounder to sophomore shortstop Manny Rodriguez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Calvert Hall) was fielded cleanly and thrown to senior catcher Woody Wallace (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) who applied the tag at the plate for the second out. Zellner responded with his third strikeout of the game to end the frame.
