CINCINNATI
- The University of Cincinnati baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning but it was not enough to complete the comeback as the Bearcats fell 7-5 to Wright State on Tuesday night at Marge Schott Stadium.

Sophomore Ryan Noda (Volo, Ill./Grant) led the Bearcats with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI in the game. Sophomore Manny Rodriguez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Calvert Hall) also chipped in a pair of hits with two RBIs.

- Cincinnati falls to 14-14 on the year while WSU improves to 19-9.
- Sophomore Tristan Hammans (Bakersfield, Calif./Garces Memorial) (0-1) took the loss while The Raiders' Trevor Swaney (4-1) earned the win and Jack Van Horn picked up his sixth save of the season.
- Noda, Rodriguez, senior Woody Wallace (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) and junior R.J. Thompson (Mason, Ohio/Mason) each recorded two hits, marking the seventh time this season at least three players have recorded multiple hits in a single game.
- Freshman Chris Gang (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) made his first-career start, pitching a career-high 2.1 innings with a strikeouts and only one run allowed.

Top of the First
After Gang worked two outs in the opening frame, WSU's Ryan Fucci lined a solo homerun just over the fence in left field to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.
Bottom of the Second
Cincinnati got the run back in the second inning after three batters. Noda knocked a triple off the wall in left field and came around to score when Rodriguez reached on an error two batters later.
Top of the Sixth
Back-to-back walks to leadoff the inning came back to haunt the Bearcats when consecutive groundouts moved the runners around and brought home a run to break a 2-2 tie and put WSU ahead.
Top of the Eighth
After scoring two runs in the seventh inning, the Raiders tacked on an additional two runs in the eighth for a 7-3 lead. The Bearcats' pitching staff again walked the two leadoff batters and both ended up scoring a run following a sacrifice fly by J.D. Orr and a singly be Mitch Roman.
Bottom of the Eighth
Singles by Noda and sophomore Treg Haberkorn (Leo, Ind./Leo) put two runners on before a double by Rodriguez brought home a run to cut the WSU lead to 7-4. A wild pitch during the next at-bat scored Haberkorn for a 7-5 score but the Bearcats couldn't add to the damage with two strikeouts to end the inning.

// Up Next
The Bearcats will host the Hoosiers of Indiana University on Wednesday at 6 p.m., in a game where they are attempting to break the Marge Schott Stadium attendance record. The current record for the facility is 2,200 set in 2004 during the stadium's first game.
