CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team picked up 10 more wins to cap of the final day of action at the UC Invitational hosted by the Bearcats at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.
// OVERALL AWARDS
It was a clean sweep for the Bearcats for tournament awards with Lauren Bellinger (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) earning the Most Outstanding Singles title and Bellinger and Kelly Poggensee-Wei (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) earning the Most Outstanding Doubles title.
Bellinger was undefeated for the weekend with three singles and three doubles wins, playing on court No. 1 for five of six matches. Arguably, one of the better matches for the weekend, Bellinger battled with Cristina Di Lorenzo of Xavier in the final meeting of the day. After pulling out the first set 7-5, the senior secured the win with a second-set tiebreaker, 9-7 win on a misplay at the net by Di Lorenzo.
In doubles action, Bellinger and Poggensee-Wei combined for a pair of doubles wins together while also each picking up a doubles win with a different partner. Playing on court, No. 1 against Ball State, the senior combo recorded a 6-4 win. The duo also added a 6-3 win over Di Lorenzo and Ghidotti of Xavier on court No. 3.
// WEEKEND WRAP UP
Overall Cincinnati won seven of nine doubles matches and 14 of 18 singles matches for the weekend. The performance included a clean sweep of Dayton in singles and doubles action. The Bearcats also won five of six singles matches against Ball State and all three doubles matches against Xavier.
Antonella Bramato (Pachuca, Mexico/Elise Freinet) was 3-0 in singles action while Anna Philp (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Central) and Caroline Morton (Dubuque, Iowa/Evert Tennis Academy) each won a pair of singles matches.

A select group of Bearcats will travel to Murfreesboro, Tennessee for the ITA/Ohio Valley Fall Regional Tournament. The event runs Thursday, October 20 through Monday, October 24.
