DELAND, Fla. -- The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team was done in by a two-minute stretch which saw Stetson rattle off three consecutive goals as the Bearcats dropped their season opener to the Hatters, 9-6.

13:33 1st - CIN Maria Collacchi
Collacchi (Parkton, Md./Hereford) scored her first career goal just past the midway point of the first half to cap a back-and-forth opening run. The teams traded the first six goals, with Collacchi's tying the game at 3-3.
9:50 1st - STET Sam Maguire (Hallie Merz)
Maguire scored to cap a 3-0 Hatter run over just 1:40. Lindsay Summers started the run with a goal at the 11:30 mark, followed by Shelby Lehmann at the 10:38 mark and Maguire's goal. It was the only time in the game either team scored consecutive goals.
4:49 1st - CIN Courtney Curtis
UC's leading scorer a season ago, Curtis was held to just one goal on the night. It did halt the Stetson momentum and cut Cincinnati's deficit to just 6-4 at the half.
9:41 2nd - STET Taylor Patrizi (Hallie Merz)
With play slowing down in the second half, Patrizi's goal with just under 10 minutes remaining pushed the Hatter lead to 8-5.
// GAME NOTES
- Collacchi was the only rookie on the UC roster to score a point in her collegiate debut.
- Five of Cincinnati's six goals were scored by prodcuts of Hereford High School in Baltimore County, Maryland. Bell, Kovinsky and Collacchi are all Hereford graduates.
- It marks the first victory by Stetson in four meetings with Cincinnati.
- Bell scored a pair of goals in her first game in over a year. She was injured in the second game of last season against Louisville on Feb. 15, 2015.
- Cincinnati is now 3-6 all-time in season openers. The Bearcats lost the previous two lid-lifters to a ranked team in Notre Dame.
