Women's Golf Sits Fourth After 36 Holes At Amelia Island Collegiate

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team sits fourth after the opening 36 holes at the fourth annual Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf Club.

The Bearcats opened their spring with a 36-hole total of 600 after rounds of 298 and 302, respectively, on the par-72, 6,029-yard layout. UC trails tournament leaders Mercer (583), Campbell (586) and Daytona State College (589) in the 18-team field.

Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) tied for the first-round lead after matching Campbell's Annelie Sjoholm with a 70, but a second-round 78 dropped Gloor into a tie for 15th, eight shots off the lead. Anika Hitt (Mequon, Wisc./Homestead) is on Gloor's heels in a tie for 18th after a second-round 73 improved on Hitt's opening-round 76.
