CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team picked up their seventh win of the season Friday night, recording a 6-1 victory over University of Evansville at the Western Tennis & Fitness Club.

The Bearcats started on a strong note in doubles action, with Lauren Bellinger (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) and Kelly Poggensee-Wei (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) earning a 6-0 sweep on court No. 1. Caroline Morton (Dubuque, Iowa/Evert Tennis Academy) and Antonella Bramato (Pachuca, Mexico/Elise Freinet) added a 6-2 win on court No. 3 to secure the doubles win. Despite an entertaining match on court No. 2, play was stopped after the point was secured.

Cincinnati took control in singles action with the Bearcats winning five of the six first sets, going on to win all of those matches.

Returning to the singles lineup for the first time this season, Ali Miller (Portsmouth, Ohio/Portsmouth) added a 6-1, 6-1 win on court No. 6. Bramato followed with a 6-3, 6-0 win before a victory from Morton on court No. 4 by scores of 6-2, 6-3 secure the win for Cincinnati. Anna Philp (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Central) and Bellinger added singles wins to cap of the night for UC.

The Bearcats will have an 11-day break before heading back to the courts. Cincinnati will travel to Dallas, Texas for a pair of matches, taking on SMU in a conference match on Tuesday, March 14 before taking on Georgia State on Thursday, March 16.
