CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati women's team extended their winning streak to seven matches with a 4-0 win over NKU Wednesday afternoon at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.

The Bearcats added a the first point thanks to a pair of doubles wins on courts No. 1 and No. 3. Caroline Morton (Dubuque, Iowa/Evert Tennis Academy) and Antonella Bramato (Pachuca, Mexico/Elise Freinet) added the first victory before seniors Kelly Poggensee-Wei (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) and Lauren Bellinger (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) clinched the point with a 6-4 win on court No. 1

The Bearcats carried momentum into singles play as UC won the first set on five of six courts. Anna Philp (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Central) was the first off the courts after a quick 6-2, 6-1 win on court No. 5, giving UC a 2-0 lead. Bramato added the third point for the Bearcats on court No. 3. The sophomore won the first set by a 6-1 score before battling in a close second set to earn a 6-4 score. Morton secured the win for UC, wrapping up her victory on court No. 4 by a 6-4, 6-0 score. Both teams agreed prior to the match to halt play once a winner was decided so play on courts No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 was unfinished.

Cincinnati will close out the regular season with a pair of conference matches this weekend. The Bearcats will host UConn on Friday, April 14 and then face off with East Carolina on Sunday, April 16 in the regular-season finale. Both matches are set for a 2 p.m. start time at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center.
