PALM COAST, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team recorded its highest-ever finish at the American Athletic Conference Championship with a tie for fifth at the 2017 edition of the tournament at the Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort & Golf Club.

A three-round score of 888 is the Bearcats' lowest ever at a conference championship and their best performance since shooting an 884 at the Amelia Island Collegiate, Feb. 22-23, 2016, at Amelia National Golf Club in Fernandina Beach, Florida. UC also finished ahead of three teams that ranked better than it in the GolfStat rankings: Memphis (No. 66), Tulane (No. 96), USF (No. 116).

UCF took the team title with a four-under-par 860 over the three days while Knights golfer Ashley Holder captured the individual championship at seven under par.

// COACH CARL ON THE BEARCATS
"We got off to a rough start today," said head coach Janet Carl, "but the girls fought to the finish. Even-par rounds from Anika Hitt and Tara Liebert, on a very tough course setup, were huge for us and we are proud of our outgoing seniors as they have helped change this program for the better. We are very excited about the future of this program."
