CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team carded two rounds of 301 on Monday to sit in second place at the Jacksonville Web.com Intercollegiate at Marsh Landing Country Club.
The Bearcats are just four strokes off the lead with East Tennessee State in first place with a score of 598.

Senior Tara Liebert (Mason, Ohio/Mason) led the way for the Bearcats with two rounds of 75 - including three birdies during the second round - to place in a tie for eighth place out of 90 golfers. Three additional Bearcats placed among the top 25 with junior Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) carding a two-round 151 to tie for 13th while senior Valentina Herrera (Bogotá, Colombia) and sophomore Anika Hitt (Mequon, Wisc./Homestead) both tying for 25th with scores of 153.

"I couldn't be more proud of the team today," said head coach Janet Carl. "The conditions became very rough this afternoon with 30-40 miles-per-hour winds. They did not let the environment change their game plan. They built great strategies all 36 holes today. Doing that is what has our team in position to go on a run at the win tomorrow. We got great play from all five members today and we will need to do that again tomorrow."
