INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program will get the 2017-18 season underway this Friday when they travel to the University of Indianapolis for a dual meet. The competition will begin at 6 p.m. with live video available at athletics.uindy.edu.

// RED VS BLACK
Friday night will not be the first time the Bearcats have competed as the team hosted its own Red vs Black meet on Friday, September 22. The competition within the program provided a chance to gauge where the team stands and helped all the student-athletes get geared up for the season.

// COMMENTS FROM COACH COMMONS-DISALLE
"Based on how training was going, we didn't have too many surprises, but definitely pleasantly surprised from performances from the freshmen in particular. We've got a big group that's in that has been training really well and already has made an impact. That showed in the Red and Black and in their performance and how they continued to push the returners to continue to be better. I think it sets us up pretty well for the start of the season and our first dual meet.  Having had a little bit of racing experience they now know what to expect and go in to the first meet prepared and ready to start the season."

// LOOKING BACK AT 2016
UC had a record year last season as its women's team recorded the highest finish ever at the American Championship while the men matched their best finish as both teams ended in third place. Jacqueline Keire made conference history when she became the the first student-athlete, male or female, to be named the American Most Outstanding Swimmer in three straight years. The senior went on to finish seventh in the women's 200 freestyle at the 2017 NCAA Championships, making her an All-American after receiving honorable mention All-America accolades the previous two seasons.
