It will be a busy week for the University of Cincinnati swimming and diving program as the swimmers will host the Bearcat Midseason Invitational and the divers will travel for the Missouri Diving Invitational. Both events will run all day Thursday, November 16 through Saturday, November 18.

// HOME TIMELINE
• The Bearcat Midseason Invitational will begin with prelims on Thursday at 10 a.m. The first final heats will be Thursday night starting at 6 p.m.
• Friday will be the same schedule with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
• Saturday's prelims will also start at 10 a.m. The final session composed of finals will begin Saturday night at 5 p.m.

// EVENT HISTORY
• Numerous school records were broke last season when UC held the Bearcats Midseason Invitational, hosting Indiana State and Carson-Newman
• On day one, Jacqueline Keire broke the school record in the 200 IM and 50 freestyle while Chris Bready swam a school-best in the 500 freestyle
• Keire broke another record on day two, this time in the 200 freestyle
Samantha Wheatley put her name in the record book on the second day with her 400 IM time
• On the final day of competition last season, Keire captured two more school records, one in the 100 IM and one in the 100 freestyle
Eitan Holder took the school record in the men's 100 IM
Sara Wanasek also put her name at the top of the UC record book with the fastest 1650 freestyle
• Multiple pool records were also set during the three-day competition

// ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
SWIMMING
Lindsey Wilson (men and women)

• Both the Blue Raider men and women have won three meets while dropping four
• This week's event will be the first and only competition for Lindsey Wilson against a Division I opponent this season
Indiana State (women)
• Indiana State is 10-5 this season
• The Sycamores have suffered losses at Illinois State, against Saint Louis, against Xavier, against Illinois-Chicago and at Illinois
• Most recently, Indiana State is coming off a 192-39 victory against Butler, a 144-99 victory against Evansville and a 156-83 victory against Little Rock that took place in a quad meet on November 4
Illinois State (women)
• Illinois State is coming off two losses, the only two losses the team has had this season
• The Redbirds fell 194-106 against Southern Illinois and most recently, 152-148 at Ball State on November 10
• Illinois State has performed better than Indiana State, Lewis, Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois this season
San Jose State (women)
• San Jose State opened the season with a fifth place finish out of five teams in the Chik-fil-A Invitational in Fresno, California
• The Spartans then finished second and fourth out of four teams at the Pacific Invitational
• The team won 230-69 at UC Santa Cruz on November 4, its most recent event
DIVING
• The Bearcats diving team will face Nebraska, Drury, Oklahoma Baptist and host Missouri Thursday-Sunday at the Mizzou Invite


// CONFERENCE RANKINGS
• The Bearcat men remain atop the conference and the women are fourth in the standings according to collegeswimming.com
• UC holds some of the top times in the conference
Dominic Polling's top time in the 100 freestyle ranks third
• The Bearcats hold the top two times in the men's 200 freestyle, as Din Selmanovic leads and Justin Crew is in second
• UC men also hold the top two times in the 500 freestyle. Selmanovic is atop the list followed by Chris Bready
• The top four times in the 1,000 freestyle belong to Bearcats as Bready has posted the fastest time followed by teammates Selmanovic and Toby Van Dyke
Zach Hostoffer has the fastest time in the 100 breaststroke in the conference while Polling's best time is good for third-fastest
• Van Dyke is second in the 200 butterfly while George Epsly ranks third
• Polling holds the best finish in the 200 IM and Ryan DePietro is second in the 400 IM
Mitch Godar has the best score in 1-meter diving
• On the women's side, Katherine Gob is tied for the second-best time in the 50 freestyle this season and also ranks second in 100 freestyle
Sara Wanasek's best 1,000 freestyle time this season is good for second in the conference
Kennedy Herbert has the second-best time in the 100 breaststroke
Katie Qualls ranks third with her best 200 butterfly time


// LOOKING AHEAD
• UC will be back to action November 29 through December 2. Swimming will compete at the US Winter Nationals in Columbus, Ohio while diving will be at the Miami Diving Invitational in Oxford, Ohio.
• Those events will be the final for the winter semester
• The Bearcats will host their next home meet on Friday, January 19, a tri-meet against Xavier and Virginia Tech
