CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Cincinnati baseball team clinched the series win on Sunday afternoon by beating UT Martin 6-3.
The Bearcats took three out of four games with the Skyhawks, only losing the third game which went into eleven innings.

• UC improves to 5-4 on the season with the victory while UTM drops to 2-9
• Jalen Wade pitched well in his first collegiate start. The freshman went 6.0 innings with four hits, two earned runs, no walks and eight strikeouts. He did not allow a hit or a run until the fourth frame
• Tristan Hammans threw 2.0 scoreless innings with no runs, no walks and three strikeouts and Doug Lowe II cruised through the ninth for the save
• Kyle Mottice continued his hot hitting. He had another two hits to bat .500 in the weekend series
• Connor McVey and Cole Murphy also finished the day with two hits. Murphy and Eric Santiago each had a homerun while Murphy added in a double

• The Bearcats struck early with a three-run second inning. Murphy doubled, Joey Thomas singled and Santiago blasted a homerun to left field for the early lead
Top of the 4th
• The Skyhawks got their first run on two singles and an error
Bottom of the 5th
• McVey led off the bottom of the fifth with a double as UC added to its lead. Murphy homered to deep left center for a two RBI later in the frame
Top of the 6th
• UT Martin made it a two-run game with two runs in the next inning. A double and homerun put the score at 5-3
Bottom of the 6th
• The final tally of the ball game came when Santiago walked, Haberkorn reached on a bunt single and Mottice was hit by a pitch to load the bases. McVey earned himself another RBI on a sacrifice fly to center field

• UC will travel to Indiana for a 4 p.m. game on Wednesday, March 7
• The Bearcats are home again next weekend for a three-game series with Tennessee
