ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Cincinnati baseball dropped the second game of the series 11-2 at UCF on Saturday night.
// NOTABLES
• The Bearcats are now 16-17 on the season and 6-5 in conference play
• The Knights move to 25-11 and 6-5
• Starter Nathan Kroger gave up two early runs then settled in nicely before UCF was able to come back with big innings late. Kroger struck out five in five innings in the loss
• Relievers Clayton Colvin, Tanner Schimmoeller and Isaac Olson all threw an inning each
• UC was only able to get three hits in the game. Cole Murphy had a solo homerun, Manny Rodriguez hit a double and Connor McVey had a RBI single
• A.J. Bumpass was robbed of a homerun as the Knights' right fielder made an impressive catch over the wall
• Rodriguez has now reached base in 35 straight games

• UCF took an early 2-0 lead on a triple, sacrifice fly, walk and a double
Top of the 5th
• UC got a run back and made it a one-run game when Murphy scorched the first pitch of his at-bat over the wall in right field

• A grand slam by the Knights made it a 6-1 contest. Bases became loaded prior to the homerun via a single, a hit batter and a walk

• The Bearcats kept fighting and scored one more run in the seventh. Rodriguez led off with a double and scored later on a base hit by McVey
Bottom of the 8th
• The biggest frame came when UCF scored five in the eighth. A double, three singles, a hit batter and a walk allowed the Knights to make it an 11-2 game
