CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball fell to Wright State 5-1 in a weather-shortened game on Tuesday.
 
The game entered a two hour, twenty minute delay at the conclusion of the sixth inning. Action resumed and the teams played the top of the seventh before lightning was once again detected in the area. The game was called just before the start of the bottom of the seventh frame.

• Cincinnati goes to 12-14 on the season while Wright State moves to 16-10
Jalen Wade allowed two earned runs in 4.2 innings and got tagged with the loss
Tristan Hammans pitched the next 1.1 frames and did not give up a run while Clayton Colvin entered the game after the delay and got a double-play and a strikeout
• The Bearcats' five hits were scattered throughout the order. Kyle Mottice had the only one for extra-bases, a double
• With a walk in his third plate appearance, Manny Rodriguez has increased his reach base safely streak to 28 games
• The two teams will face each other again next week in the Joe Nuxhall Classic in Oxford

Top of the 2nd
• Back-to-back solo homeruns got the scoring started as Wright State took a two-run lead
Top of the 5th
• A two-run homerun after a walk added two more runs for the Raiders' lead. A double, two more walks and a RBI base hit made it a 5-0 game
Bottom of the 5th
• The Bearcats got on the board when Connor McVey walked, Dondrae Bremner reached on a fielder's choice and Mottice earned an RBI on a double to right field

• The Bearcats continue the home stand this weekend when Memphis comes to town for a three-game conference series
• Game times are slated for Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
