CINCINNATI – Eric Toth, the head coach of the University of Cincinnati tennis program, has announced the addition of Katarina Adamovic as the program's new assistant coach. A collegiate All-American in her playing days, Adamovic comes to the Bearcats following a highly decorated career at Oklahoma State University where she was a two-sport student-athlete.
In her time at OSU, she tallied an overall record of 75-42 in singles and a 91-23 mark in doubles. Adamovic's 79.8 win percentage in doubles ranks No. 1 among the OSU women's tennis program since the inception of the Big 12. Her 91 doubles wins ranks her as third-highest in the OSU women's program during the Big 12 era and the ninth-most all-time, while her 75 singles wins ranks eighth in the Big 12 era.
Adamovic is a four-time Big 12 All-Conference selection and claimed two Big 12 team championships. During the 2015 season, she was the ITA's Central Region singles champion, as well as the Dick Vitale Tournament champion.
In 2016, she had an outstanding tournament at the NCAA Championships where she advanced to the quarterfinals in singles before, helping her team to a runner-up showing. For her efforts in both tournaments, she was named the team tournament's Most Outstanding Player and earned her first All-American honors as an individual.
In 2017, her senior season, she went 21-9 in singles and 17-4 in doubles en route to another Elite 8 showing by the OSU team. During her career, she was ranked as high as #10 in singles and #17 in doubles on the ITA rankings.
Following the completion of her time playing tennis, she joined the OSU women's basketball program for one season, competing as a guard during the 2017-18 campaign.
Adamovic was born in Cacak, Serbia, and was the Serbian national champion for Seniors, U18, U16, U10 and Juniors.
// KATARINA ON JOINING THE BEARCATS
"I am extremely grateful to Coach Toth and the University of Cincinnati for this amazing opportunity. This will be a wonderful place to begin my college coaching career with an accomplished head coach, players and staff.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge to help the student-athletes have great experiences and results. I'm thrilled for the opportunity to work alongside Coach Toth and help develop the program moving forward. I can't wait to get to campus and start working within this great community."
// COACH TOTH ON THE HIRE
"It is with great excitement that we announce Katarina Adamovic to be our new assistant coach. Katarina was one of the best tennis players in all of college tennis during her time at Oklahoma State. Her tremendous accomplishments aside, what really stands out is that Katarina was someone who truly reached her full potential as a student-athlete. As a coach, all you want is for everyone under your watch to get the absolute most out of their individual talent. Katarina has so much to offer and I look forward to maximizing the talents of every one of our girls to continue to improve the level of this program. I cannot wait for Fall season to begin so Katarina and I can get to work with this year's edition of the Bearcats."
