  • 1,800 WINS: With the victory tonight, the Bearcats became the 14th program in NCAA Division I history to record 1,800 wins, bringing its all-time record to 1,800-1,010 (.641 win percentage). Cincinnati is the second team to join the 1,800 Win Club this season, joining Arizona, who recorded its milestone victory Nov. 19 against Iowa State (71-66). The Wildcats are just ahead of the Bearcats on the all-time wins ledger with 1,805 as of December 29.
  • IN THE SERIES: Cincinnati moved to 27-14 in its all-time series with Tulane, including 6-1 in American Athletic Conference games, and have now won six in a row in the series and 16 of the last 17 contests. The Bearcats are now 15-6 all-time against the Green Wave when playing in the Queen City while also standing 10-8 in New Orleans and 2-0 in neutral site games.
  • The Bearcats moved to 25-4 in league lid lifters since the 1990 season. UC is 10-3 under Mick Cronin in the first conference game of the year and have won nine of the last 10, including five of its six AAC openers.
  • With the win, Cincinnati is now 42-4 in home AAC games since joining the league when it began in the 2013-14 season. In the previous five seasons, UC posted records of 8-1, 8-1, 8-1, 9-0 and 8-1 before starting this year at 1-0 with tonight's win.
  • The Bearcats are now 42-2 at home since the start of the 2016-17 season. They entered the game today leading the nation in home wins (41) and held the highest winning percentage (.953) since the start of the 2016-17 season.
  • HALFTIME REPORT: Tulane kept things close through the first five minutes of action, trailing by only three points before Cincinnati used a pair of big runs to build a 24-point lead at the break, 52-28. Following the first media timeout, the Bearcats posted a 15-1 run with Rashawn Fredericks hitting consecutive three-point shots to help the hosts to a 17-point advantage before using another 15-1 run late in the half to build their lead further with Justin Jenifer collecting eight of those points. Overall, Jarron Cumberland led all scorers with 15 points, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, while Jenifer collected 13 and both Fredericks and Cane Broome posting nine. Caleb Daniels led the Green Wave with 10 points.
  • In the first half, the Bearcats scored 52 points, marking the 12th time this year they have posted 30 or more points in the opening stanza (14 games played) while also securing the fifth time they have tallied 40 or more. The 52 points stand as the second-highest opening half point total behind only the 59 scored against Arkansas-Pine Bluff earlier this year. Defensively, the 28 points allowed marked the 10th time UC has held a foe under 30 this season as well.
  • Also in the first half, Cincinnati not only shot 54.3 percent overall, but was 60.0 percent from behind the arc as the Bearcats connected on 9-of-15 shooting. Those nine makes were more than the team made in nine full games prior to tonight and tied two other games (11-of-13 previous games). Three Bearcats each made three treys, including Justin Jenifer (3-of-4), Rashawn Fredericks (3-of-4) and Jarron Cumberland (3-of-5). The Bearcats finished the night 10-of-21 from deep after going just 1-of-6 in the second half to record 10 or more in a game for just the third time this season.
  • Cincinnati scored 93 points for the second time in three games (defeated UCLA, 93-64) and broke 90 for the third time this season (105-49 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff). So far this year, the Bearcats have tallied more than 70 points 10 times in 14 games, over 80 and 90 three times and over 100 once.

// PLAYER NOTES
  • Jarron Cumberland, who made his 50th career start for the Bearcats, finished the game with 22 points to collect his ninth career 20-point game and the sixth this season. His 22 points tonight gives him 20 or more points in two of his last three games (25 vs. UCLA). Cumberland finished the game with 6-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-5 from three and 7-of-8 from the free throw line while adding seven rebounds and five assists. Cumberland now has 939 career points at Cincinnati, leaving him 61 points shy of joining the 1,000 club at UC.
  • With his 22 points, seven boards and five helpers (tied for the lead with Justin Jenifer), Cumberland became the first Bearcat to lead the team in all three categories in the same game since Sean Kilpatrick did so against SMU on January 1, 2013 (5 years, 1 day ago). That night, Kilpatrick posted a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds while also dishing out six assists.
  • Justin Jenifer finished the night with 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three, to record a trio of career highs. His 18 points bettered the 16 he scored against Coppin State last year (11/16/17) while his six made field goals and four made three-pointers tied his previous bests from games with Savannah State (11/10/17) and CSU, respectively.
  • Rashawn Fredericks had a hot hand in the opening 10 minutes of the game as the junior transfer was 3-of-3 from three in the opening 10:23. Those three makes are a career high, surpassing the two he made against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, while his five attempts bettered his previous career high of three against Milwaukee.
  • John Koz got in the career record marks as well as his running lay up late in the game gave him two points on 1-of-2 shooting. Previously, he had recorded just one basket and two points in a win over Temple (1/24/18) and added a career-high in shots tonight (2) after going 1-of-1 in that Temple game.
