The Bearcats will travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan on Sunday, February 10 for an 11 a.m. match against Western Michigan.

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team is back in action against the Western Michigan Broncos. The Bearcats will travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan on Sunday, February 10 for an 11 a.m. match held at the West Hills Athletic Club.

// LOOKING BACK
The Bearcats registered their third sweep of the season with a 7-0 victory over IUPUI. Ioana Guna and Anna Philp got the match started off in the right direction with a 6-1 victory at the #2 court. Antonella Bramato and Alexia Coutino continued their strong showing as they clinched the doubles point for the Bearcats with a 6-2 victory on the #1 court. Emma Miceli and Caroline Morton completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 victory on the #3 court.
 
The Bearcats boast a 13-2 record in doubles play this season with the duo of Bramato/Coutino leading the group with a 5-0 record at the #1 court.
 
Caroline Morton kept the momentum going as she registered a 6-1, 6-0 victory on the #3 court in singles. Emma Miceli clinched the match for the Bearcats with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on the #6 court. Miceli's victory moves her to 4-1 for the season. Maria Santilli completed the sweep for the Bearcats, moving to 5-0 for the season, with a 6-3, 6-1 victory on the #5 court.
 
Between the Toledo and IUPUI matches, the team has only dropped one set of the course of play.
 
// MAJOR MILESTONES
Coach Eric Toth registered his 50th career coaching victory since joining the Bearcats with the 7-0 sweep at Toledo. Toth moved in to a tie with Bill Hopkins for number four on the all-time coaching victories list with his 51st victory against IUPUI.

// SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
The Broncos came out of the gate bucking, opening the season with 6-1 wins vs. Oakland and DePaul, as well as 7-0 wins against IUPUI and Chicago State. However, Notre Dame, Indiana and Marquette have all managed to tame them. The Broncos were swept by Notre Dame and Indiana, then fell 4-3 to Marquette.
 
Western Michigan has mixed up their line-ups, but are largely led by Denise Azcui, Katja Fevralev and Femke Tjon-A-Joe in singles. All three boast recoreds of 5-2 in singles competiton. Azcui holds a 4-2 record at the #2 court, Fevralev a 2-0 record at the #4 court and Tjon-A-Joe a 3-0 record at the #3 court. Rounding out the strong singles performances for the Broncos is Kristina Tiraspolsky with a 3-1 record, including a 2-1 showing at the #5 court.
 
Doubles has been very up and down for the Broncos. The duo of Melina Lyubomirova and Femke Tjon-A-Joe lead the pack with a 4-2 record, including a 4-1 showing at the #2 court. Katja Fevralev and Kristina Tiraspolsky have accumulated a 3-2 record at the #1 court and rounding out top doubles performances is Denise Azcui and Jeryn Jack with a 2-0 record at the #3 court.
