COLUMBUS, Ohio –Brooke Catherine won the pole vault to lead the University of Cincinnati track and field team Friday at the Buckeye Tune-Up at French Field House in Columbus, Ohio.
The Bearcats recorded double-digit PRs and season bests along with four all-time Top-10s in their final outing before next week's American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
Catherine, who won the event for the fourth-straight year, cleared 4.03m with the victory, her first time this season over four meters. The Bearcats took four of the Top-5 spots in the rankings as Catherine took the win, Lily Bunse was third (3.88m), Allie Plybon was fourth (3.88m) and Rachel Coghill (3.73m) placed fifth. Sadie Brass was 11th with a season-best clearance of 3.43m. In the men's event, Austin Goolsby took second with a best effort of 4.94 while Nicholas Lauria was sixth (4.79m).
MITCHELL DASHING UP THE CHARTS
Quincy Mitchell placed second in the 60m with a scorching time of 6.75, a PR and the No. 2 time in UC history. That time ranks No. 5 on the American Athletic Conference performance lists this season. Mitchell started off strong in the preliminaries with a PR of 6.88 which sat as the No. 9 run in UC history. Mykel Chambers ran a season-best time of 6.87 in the prelims and followed it up with a PR of 6.85 in the finals, tied for the sixth-best effort in UC's record book. He placed fourth overall.

Annette Echikunwoke won the women's weight throw with a facility-record toss of 23.49m while competing unattached. Echikunwoke was the 2017 NCAA Champion and a three-time American Athletic Conference Champion in the event. She is scheduled to throw for the Bearcats during the 2019 outdoor campaign, her senior season.
