Osterburg Tied for Ninth after First Day of George Mason Event

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FLORIDA –University of Cincinnati sophomore Nicolas Osterburg (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian High School) is tied for ninth after the opening two rounds of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida.

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FLORIDA –University of Cincinnati sophomore Nicolas Osterburg (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian High School) is tied for ninth after the opening two rounds of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. 
 
Osterburg had a 36-hole tally of 1-under 143 after firing an opening round 72 and a second-round score of 71 on Saturday.
 
The Bearcats are sixth in the 17-team field with a team score of 8-over 290-294=584. Kansas State leads the field at 8-under 283-285=568. 
 
The 54-hole event, hosted by George Mason at the Mission Inn Resort and Club, is being played on the El Campeon course (Par 72; 6,793 yards).
 
Senior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle HS) was the second Bearcats player on the leaderboard, firing a first-round 70 and second-round 74 for a two-round tally of even-par 144. He is tied for 12th. 
 
Redshirt-freshman Mason Lenhart (Prospect, Ky./North Oldham HS) is competing individually and rounds out three UC players in the Top-15. His opening-day 1-over 70-75=145 has him in a tie for 15th position.

Freshman Sam Jean (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS) is in a tie for 35th. He had a first-round 72 and a second-round 77 for a 5-over 149. 
 
Redshirt sophomore Andy Mayhew (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood High School) is tied for 49th after shooting 7-over 76-75 =151 and sophomore Clay Amlung (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier High School) sits 65th after a day-one total of 9-over 79-74=153.
