University of Cincinnati baseball remains home for its next two weekend series, starting with three games against Wichita State this weekend. The teams are set to play Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
 
// PROMOTIONS
The Bearcats are celebrating Arbor Day on Friday and will handing out tree seedlings to our first 200 fans. Red maple, red oak and black hills spruce trees will be distributed
• There will also be $2 beer and $ pretzels available at the concession stand Friday night
• Saturday is season ticket holder appreciation day and also is a rally towel giveaway presented by John Morrell for the first 100 fans
• Select players will be available for autographs on the concourse following Saturday's contest
• Sunday will have a mini bat giveaway thanks to Roto-Rooter, handed out to the first 350 fans through the gates

// OPPONENT OVERVIEW
• Wichita State enters the weekend with an even 20-20 record and 5-7 conference standing
• The Shockers won the last AAC series against UCF, taking two out of three games
• The weekend prior, Wichita State was swept in three games at home by Houston
• Most recently, the Shockers dropped a 9-4 contest Tuesday night versus Oklahoma
• UC and WSU have met just three times before, in a series last season
• The Bearcats won the first game 5-1, dropped the second 9-1, then captured a series road victory 8-2 in the finale
• Wichita State is third in the conference with a .281 team batting average and is fourth in slugging percentage
• The Shockers also rank second in hits, third in RBI, second in doubles, third in triples and third in total bases
 
// CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT OUTLOOK
• Entering the weekend, UC is tied for third in the American Athletic Conference with Houston at 8-7. The Cougars hold the tie-breaker since they won the series last weekend
• ECU continues to lead at 11-1 while Tulane is in second (8-3) and UConn is in fifth (7-8)
• The Bearcats won the series at UConn but lost the series against Tulane
• Memphis and Wichita State follow in sixth and seventh place at 5-6 and 5-7, respectively
• Looking at matchups the rest of the way, UC hosts Wichita and ECU and travels to Memphis
• Tulane plays at ECU and Houston and home against UCF and UConn
• Houston travels to both Florida schools and faces Tulane at home
• UConn is set to host Wichita State and USF and then travel to Tulane
• UCF enters the weekend in eighth place (5-10) and USF in ninth (2-10)
• The top eight teams qualify for the conference tournament held May 21-26 in Clearwater, Florida

Josh Harrison, Detroit Tigers, MLB: playing second base, has six hits in the last seven games
Ryan Atkinson, Jackson Generals, Double-A: 2-0 with a 0.77 ERA in seven games; struck out 18 while only walking four in 11.2 innings
Connor Walsh, Birmingham Barons, Double-A: 3.52 ERA in six games; six strikeouts in 7.2 innings
Ian Happ, Iowa Cubs, Triple-A: hitting .225 with seven doubles and two homeruns in 19 games
Ryan Noda, Dunedin Blue Jays, A-Advanced: hitting .279 with three doubles and two homeruns
Manny Rodriguez, St. Lucie Mets, A-Advanced: hitting .214 in 15 games; has perfect fielding percentage at shortstop with 22 assists and three double plays
Cam Alldred, Greensboro Grasshoppers, Single-A: .090 ERA in six games; 11 strikeouts and two walks in 10.0 innings

// LOOKING AHEAD
• The eight-game homestand continues next weekend when the Bearcats host nationally-ranked ECU
• There will be no midweek games next week due to finals weeks
• The Pirates will be in town Friday night at 6 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
// TICKETS AVAILABLE
• Season tickets for all home games this season are available by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX, logging on to GoBearcats.com or by visiting the ticket office located at Richard E. Lindner Center in Varsity Village
• Tickets are only $50 for adults and $30 for seniors (65 and older) and youth (aged 4-12)
• UC students receive free admission to all games with a valid ID
• Single game tickets may also be purchased for any game set to be played at Marge Schott Stadium this season
• A flex plan option is available, allowing fans to purchase ten undated vouchers for $35
