Bearcats SAAC Announces 2020-21 Executive Board

The University of Cincinnati Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently held elections for its 2020-21 executive board with eight Bearcats voted into office for the upcoming academic year.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently held elections for its 2020-21 executive board with eight Bearcats voted into office for the upcoming academic year.
 
To be selected, current student-athletes submitted videos explaining in their own words why they chose to run and why they felt they were a great fit for that particular position. All returning SAAC members then voted and the winners were announced at the April 20 SAAC meeting.
 
The 2020-21 executive board includes:

Martin and Markel are both returning to the executive board after serving in different capacities in 2019-20 when they served as the Internal Vice President and Communications Officer, respectively. In addition to their current board position, both Williams and Markel will take on additional roles as Williams will serve as UC's representative to the American Athletic Conference's SAAC while Markel will serve as the groups ONE TEAM representative.
 
During the 2020 ONE TEAM Awards (Monday, May 18), Martin opened the virtual award show addressing his fellow student-athletes where he spoke on several early goals SAAC will strive to reach in 2020-21. First, SAAC will work to build better engagement with other organizations across campus. SAAC also will continue its efforts to build upon last year's mental health initiatives.
