CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics' weekly Watch Party treks back to 2012 Thursday for the BIG EAST Conference Men's Basketball Tournament semifinal thriller over Syracuse.
The No. 4 seeded Bearcats upended No. 2 Syracuse, leading buzzer-to-buzzer and holding on for a 71-68 victory in front of a sellout crowd in Madison Square Garden.

NOTING THE WIN OVER SYRACUSE
• UC snapped a four-game losing streak against Syracuse and clinched a spot in the BIG EAST title game for the first time.
• The Bearcats never trailed and led 35-23 at halftime.
• UC had four players in double figures, Yancy Gates, Dion Dixon, Sean Kilpatrick and Cashmere Wright.
• Kilpatrick scored 18 points with five steals and tied a career high with six three-pointers, Gates scored 18 points with eight rebounds, Wright had 11 with eight assists and a steal while Dixon added 11 points.
• Justin Jackson slammed one home with one second left to set the final three-point margin.
• The Bearcats shredded Syracuse's famed 2-3 zone from the start, making six of their first seven 3-point attempts. They made eight of their first 10 shots from beyond the arc in taking a 34-17 lead with 5:43 left in the first half, with Kilpatrick going 4 of 4.
• UC's defense held Syracuse to a 31-percent shooting effort in the first half.
