CINCINNATI – Twelve University of Cincinnati student-athletes will earn their degrees this weekend as the University will hold its Summer 2020 Commencement virtually because of the continued global pandemic. Of the 12 Bearcats set to graduate, three are former student-athletes that returned to finish their degrees, including Ryan Noda (baseball), Steve Logan (men's basketball) and Tyreek Burwell (football).

// BACK TO FINISH
While nine of the graduates finished their careers at UC this year or are entering their final collegiate seasons, three former Bearcats came back and recently finished their degree work. Logan is one of the all-time greats in the Bearcats basketball program and was inducted in the UC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010. A two-time Conference USA Player of the Year and an AP All-American, he finished his career ranked second in scoring behind only Oscar Robertson. Logan was a second-round (29th overall) draft pick of the Golden State Warriors in the 2002 NBA Draft.

Burwell was undrafted in 2015 before signing as an undrafted free agent by Chargers and logged 16 games played in two seasons (2015 and 2016). He then was signed in 2017 by the Colts and appeared in one game and retired from the NFL in 2019 after signing with the Eagles. Burwell came to UC in 2013 after playing at SUNY Cortland and appeared in 11 games for the Bearcats' offensive line in 2014.

Noda, who earned his degree in Sport Administration, was a 15th-round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2017 and is currently a member of its farm system, most recently playing for Dunedin (Fla.) in high-A. Noda played three years for the Bearcats (2015-17) and earned AAC All-Conference Second Team accolades in 2017. All told, he batted .239 for his career across 167 games, collecting 136 hits with 31 doubles, six triples and 22 home runs.
