TEAM NOTES
• UC's tallied a season-high 313 yards on the ground, its first 300-yard rushing game since going for 343 vs. Boston College in the 2020 Birmingham Bowl.
• The Bearcats offensive line featured two new starters in C Jake Renfo and RG Dylan O'Quinn who made their first career starts. In addition to the season-high rushing yardage, UC averaged 8.9 yards per rush, 7.8 yards per play and surrendered no sacks.
• The 29-point margin of victory was UC's largest against a ranked team in program history.
• UC has multiple wins over ranked teams in a single season for the first time since 2009 and only the second time in school history.
• UC's first win over a ranked team on the road since beating No. 14 Pittsburgh, 45-44, on Dec. 5, 2009 at Heinz Field.
• UC had a season-high four sacks with Marcus Brown, Myjai Sanders, Ethan Tucky and Jarell White all recording single sacks.
• UC's 9.0 tackles for a loss was the third time in 2020 the Bearcats have finished with nine or more TFLs.
• UC held SMU well below their season average of 42.6 PPG (13), 204.0 rushing YPG (75), 359.2 passing YPG (215) and 563.2 total YPG (290)
QB DESMOND RIDDER
• Rushed eight times for a career high 179 yards and career-best tying three TDs.
• Ridder rung up his UC-record fifth 100-yard rushing game for a QB and second career game with three rushing scores.
• He also finished 13-of-21 for 126 yards and a TD and zero sacks.
• It is the eighth performance of 179 or more yards with eight of fewer carries in the NCAA FBS since 2000.
• Ridder had a 91-yard TD dash in the fourth quarter, a career-long rush, UC's longest offensive play in 2020 and sits tied as the longest rush and rushing TD in school history (Joe Miller vs. Xavier – 1953).
• It was the Bearcats first offensive play of 90 or more yards since Eric Vibberts found James Scott on a 91-yard pitch and catch against ECU in 1994.
• Coupled with Tre Tucker's 97-yard KOR score against USF, it is the first time UC has had multiple 90-plus yard plays in a season since 2009 when Mardy Gilyard and Darren Williams had 99- and 100-yard KOR scores, respectively.
