CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team staged a sixth-inning rally on the way to a 5-4 win Sunday in the series finale against Western Michigan at UC Baseball Stadium.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team staged a sixth-inning rally on the way to a 5-4 win Sunday in the series finale against Western Michigan at UC Baseball Stadium.
 
The Bearcats (6-7) have won three in-a-row overall and 10-straight on the home turf. 
 
Down 4-3 in the sixth, Jace Mercer drew a two-out, full-count walk and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Tanner Holen lofted a triple to center field to plate Mercer. Cole Harting followed with a single through the left side to score Holen, the go-ahead run.
 
Jalen Wade picked up the relief win, going 3.0 innings, giving up a hit, a walk and striking out four. Drake Batcho stranded two Broncos in the eighth and Zach Segal struck out two in the ninth for the save.
 
NOTABLE
• Harting finished 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs scored and two runs batted in.
• Joey Bellini was 2-for-3 with a walk, run scored, RBI and stolen base.
• Wyatt Stapp hit .600 for the three-game series, tallying six hits, a home run, double, four RBI, two walks and 10 total bases.
 
UP NEXT
UC will square off with crosstown rival Xavier in a four-game split series with each team playing host to a pair of games. Games on Friday and Saturday will take place at UC Baseball Stadium with a pair of 4 p.m. ET starts. Both home games will air on ESPN+ with live stats available online.
